South Bend Municipal Code: Section 4-30
Definition:
Hotels and motels include buildings in which lodging, with or without meals, is provided and offered to the public for compensation and which is open to transient guests.
General Instructions and Application Process:
- Assemble all required information and materials before filing application.
- Thoroughly review all applicable Municipal Code Sections 4-30 and Chapter 11
- Licenses expire January 31.
- Add 10% to license fee for renewal after January 31.
- You are responsible for $5.00 license application fee payable to City of South Bend for this application to be valid. You may pay in-person at City Hall or by calling the Business Licensing Manager to pay over the phone at 574-235-5912.
- Licensing fee payable to City of South Bend due at issuance - $95.00
Required Information and Materials:
- Site plan of the facility showing property lines, buildings, parking spaces, loading docks, and landscaping
- Evidence of approval from all federal, state, and local agencies having jurisdiction over citing construction and operation of facility, including compliance with Section 21-04.02 of the Municipal Code of South Bend
- Any additional information required by the Board of Public Works as to ownership and operation of the facility
Application Process:
- Submit Application with $5.00 Processing Fee.
- Fire and Building Department Inspections as required.
- Controller Denies or Approves License.
- License issued upon approval and payment of the license fee.
